Château de Villandry: Renowned for its magnificent Renaissance gardens
Château de Chenonceau: Known as the "Ladies' Castle," this elegant structure spans the River Cher and reflects the influence of the powerful women who once lived there.
Château d’Amboise: Perched high above the Loire River, this royal residence was the final resting place of Leonardo da Vinci.

May 2nd / Day 1: London to the Loire Valley
Begin your rail holiday to the Loire Valley on a morning Eurostar from London St Pancras to Paris, before a private transfer takes you across the capital where you catch the high-speed TGV train to St Pierre des Corps. You leave London just after 08.00 hrs which means you’ll reach St Pierre des Corps just after 15.00 hrs. A private transfer takes you to your hotel where you will spend 4 nights.
A 3-course dinner at the hotel is included on your first night.
Hotel: Domaine de la Tortiniere, Montbazon (4 nights 2 May – 6 May)
May 3rd/Day 2: In Montbazon
Today is a free day. Take some time to get used to the hotel and the amenities it offers. The hotel has a tennis court, a table tennis table, a heated swimming pool, a pool table, a spa and is surrounded by a wonderful forest with a rowing boat! You can also rent bikes to reach the village of Montbazon or simply cycle along the Loire River.
Another option would be to grab a short taxi ride to the town of Tours, the attractive historic town and cathedral city of the region. It has a medieval old town with small, cobbled streets with a flamboyant Gothic cathedral dating back to the 12th century.

May 4th/Day 3: Full day guided tour in the Loire Valley
Today, you will be visiting some of the most renowned chateaux and gardens of the East of the Loire Valley. Your private guide and driver will pick you up at 09:00AM from the hotel to take you to a selection of chateaux nearby. Start with the Chateau de Villandry, where your guide will take you through the history of the chateau and its wonderful gardens. After a lunch break, you will visit the Chateau de Chenonceau, built as a bridge on the river Loire. You finish your day with a visit of the Chateau d’Amboise and a walk in the medieval city. Great place for a quick drink or a souvenirs shop!
Your driver drops you back to the hotel around 19:00PM.

May 5th/Day 4: Free day, wine tasting at the hotel
Today is another free day at the hotel, or in one of the neighbouring towns. Take advantage of this day to visit Tours or reach Amboise by short regional train.
In the afternoon, a wine tasting will be organised at the hotel. The hotel’s sommelier will take you through 3 different types of regional wine and their history.
Have dinner at the hotel’s restaurant or in Tours.

May 6th/Day 5: Transfer to the Western Loire Valley
Today, you check out from your hotel and are driven to the hotel La Borde en Sologne, where you will spend the remaining 3 nights of your holiday. Your driver will go along the river Indre, southern tributary of the Loire River, and next to Chenonceau.
La Borde en Sologne offers a stay in an authentic chateau-hotel dating from the mid-17th century standing amid 124 acres of parkland with a lake and landscaped gardens. There is also a lake, 1,640-ft long, with a pier that can be enjoyed from the water in a boat for fishing or for pleasure. The hotel staff can arrange a range of activities such as cheese and wine tastings, segway tours, boat tours or electric car rental.

Hotel: La Borde en Sologne (3 nights 6 May – 9 May)
May 7th/Day 6 : Full day guided tour in the Loire Valley
Today, you will be visiting some of the most renowned chateaux and landmarks of the West of the Loire Valley. Your private guide and driver will pick you up at 09:00AM from the hotel to take you to a selection of chateaux nearby. Start off with the Chateau de Blois, historic monument and home to more than 35 thousand art pieces. You are then driven to the Relais de Chambord, where you have a well-deserved lunch with stunning views of the Chateau. If you prefer a more relaxed lunch, your hotel can organise picnic packed lunches. Next on your list, and most probably the most breathtaking moment of your holiday, is the Chateau de Chambord. The largest of the region, it is a quintessential example of regal grandeur. Finally, your driver brings you to the Chateau de Cheverny, from which the Belgian comic book Tintin drew its inspiration. Lose yourself in its museum, its gardens and the oh so famous labyrinth.
Your driver drops you back off at your hotel around 19:00PM.

May 8th/Day 7: Activities day
Today is an activities day. Included in your holiday price is either a half-day kayak or stand-up paddle renting, or a 1h boat ride on one of the Loire Valley’s traditional wooden boats. Do let us know in advance which activity you would prefer. Other activities can be organised on the hotel grounds, or you can simply enjoy a well-deserved spa day!
Enjoy a final dinner (not included in the price) at the hotel or in a neighbouring town. You then slowly start packing up to prepare for your departure the next day.
May 9th/Day 8: Checkout and return to London
Your private driver picks you up around 10:00am to bring you to the Blois train station, where you board a train to Paris. After a transfer from one station to another, you board the Eurostar to arrive in London around 17:30PM.

Château Hôtel de la Tortinière. Enjoy an exceptional moment and discover the Château Hôtel de la Tortinière. This charming residence enjoys a lush setting in the heart of the Loire Valley. This is a luxury and charming castle hotel just 15 km from Tours where some of the most beautiful castles in the Loire region are revealed and reveal their secrets to you. The rooms of the Hotel combine elegant and contemporary decoration with some rooms having magnificent views of the Indre Valley.
La Borde en Sologne Château & Spa. The buildings date back to the mid-18th century in the village of Vernou-en-Sologne, a 20-minute drive from Blois, Chambord and Cheverny. The hotel has retained all the hallmarks of the "château" of yesteryear, with its moldings, murals, wood panelling and imposing fireplaces. The La Borde estate in the Sologne region extends over almost forty hectares, featuring French and English gardens, as well as an impressive 500-meter-long lake.
